I have been sober for 10 or 11 years

I have been sober for 10 or 11 years. I find that funny that I can't recall the exact year but it is only a day at a time anyway so I don't get too caught up in it. My life is flowing much better than when I was drinking. My life then contained drama and poor decisions. The obsessive/compulsive behaviors had me in their clinches. My addiction also effected my loved ones. My story is not much different than anyone else's with an addiction but it is important for me to share it to help others and remind me I'm only one drink away from a drunk or whatever substance I may choose to use. Alcohol was my favorite but in my experience an addict is an addict is an addict....
